Shimamura Music, one of Japan’s leading music stores, and I are pleased to announce our second collaboration.
I illustrated two designs for a Japanese pattern guitar strap!
You can read about it on Shimamura Music’s website press release! (Japanese)

If you live somewhere outside of Japan and want my products, there is very important information in red this post.

Two types of products

I am not sure how to post a long vertical design on social networking sites or the web.

Maneki Neko Guitar Strap

This is a work of good luck featuring the yokai Nekomata.
The word “Nekomata” is associated with the image of an evil wildcat, but there is also a story about a yokai that is formed by cats with longevity. The butterfly orchid invites happiness like a butterfly, and like Nekomata, I painted this work hoping for a smooth sailing musical life with a long and active career.

I designed a pattern of Phalaenopsis orchid.
It is interesting to see how a flower can take such a complex shape.

The beckoning cat is a key-tailed kitten.
It is a symbol of Japanese bobtail.

Signature model of famous bassist Wakazaemon 赤鬼武士図肩掛革

This is a signature model of Wakazaemon, a bassist who is widely active in Japan and abroad, regardless of musical genre.
It is a work in which a samurai demon in armor dances while smoking a smoking pipe.

The sound played by the musical prodigy is as sharp as a sword that can sometimes cut with a snap. Sometimes it offers extreme relaxation. I sought such expression in the painting.

It was a wonderful time when the opportunity to draw the expression of the hand holding the flue and the unusual hairstyle of the demon stimulated my curiosity and made me want to dance myself.

I drew lettering.
The inclusion of old lettering is also a fashionable point.

Wakazaemon took a photo of the wearer in the studio.
Everything about it is absurdly cool! It’s a perfect match!

The strap maker is Grande uomo, a store specializing in guitar/bass strap production.

They produce a wide variety of straps, from cool to cute.
I like the strap with only the eyes of a black cat embroidered on it!

This time, I had a hard time deciding whether to use red, gold or black stitching, but gold was still cool!

Both will be available for pre-order on September 23rd and released on September 29th, so please follow Shimamura Music’s X for more details on how to pre-order and purchase!
